Dancing Lights, Soup and a Compass and Stock and Thing That Tells Time

As of this weekend, we are in full Christmas mode. Our calendar holds some church or school Christmas event every day this week. Then it's off to San Deigo for our week-long family vacation. We'll return just in time for the actual holiday. This weekend we kicked off the festivities with a bunch of fun outings just the 4 of us. We drove around looking at lights and were fascinated by our tiny town's new best decorator-- a guy who timed his entire-house-covering lights to dance with Christmas songs on the radio (this was so cool we actually went to see it TWO nights this weekend!). We hit the GEMS Soup Supper at church. And we checked out how the Bass Pro Shop does Christmas, definitely a more unique approach...
First Dave and Ella jumped right into The Christmas Story movie by taking target practice with a real Red Rider BB Gun. No one got their eye shot out.
Then Ella posed by the real stuffed reindeer. Is this festive or creepy? I haven't decided.
Delia was delighted by the "Choo-Choo!" displays.

Ella colored a picture. She does not yet have this "Guy Shooting His Prey" piece in her portfolio!

And Delia played in the only snow we'll see locally this season-- the fake kind.

We love this time of year-- it is the most wonderful someone once said. Hope you're finding festive ways to celebrate!
