Seven Reasons My Mother's Day was Marvelous
1. Ella asking me, "Is today Mother's Day? Yes? Oh, I need to tell you how much I love you then!" on the walk to church.
2. Ella then saying, "I do love you so much! And I love Jesus."
3. Pool party and BBQ with my surrogate family.
4. Tri-tip, watermelon and strawberry shortcake.
5. Watching Delia try to figure out how to get in the pen with the cows to hug, kiss and pet them.
6. Amazing Race Finale!
7. The opportunity to reflect on the host of moms, sisters and friends who have taught me countless things about mothering. If you're reading this, you're probably one of them, so thanks! Happy Mother's Day!

I'm so glad Jen, that you had a marvelous Mother's Day! I am very thankful that we were able to be together with all of our kids this Mother's Day. It was very special. You are a wonderful Mom to our two granddaughters, Jen. It was great to have Dave around for the weekend, and we all had a great time together!

We missed you this weekend, Jen! I am glad that you had a Happy Mother's Day in CA, though. I told Dave that I really appreciated "seeing him in action" at the wedding, and I can say the same for you about my last visit. It was really neat to witness the wonderful mother you are to my two beautiful nieces. I cannot wait to see how they grow up with such a loving home to be nurtured in (and such a great uncle to encourage them).
