Officially Summer: Swim Day Commences

There are just some things that mean summer: hot weather, free nights from no youth group meetings, grilling...and the institution we participated in today-- Swim Day! Swim Day is a very official "holiday" occurring every Thursday afternoon of the summer. It is hosted by Jared's grandma (Amy's mom) and attended by all the VMs that go to our church. We say we get together to swim, but mostly it's a chance to share homemade snacks, chat and pass around the newest babies (there will be 3 this summer!). Some of us ladies are even smart/sneaky enough to bring along our husbands to chase the kids in and out of the pool! Our party favors are bags of fruit from our host's many trees, peaches and apricots today. It was a wonderful afternoon that I wouldn't have missed even if I had been in active labor!

Four little VM girls on a raft. Phil only brought half of his family (with three kids!)

This is totally what I imagine life in CA to be like! How fun that my neices will grow up having "swim days" and enjoying fresh fruit, picked straight from the trees! I'm sure that the cool pool provided you with some much needed relief from the hot sun, Jen! Thanks for sharing! love, Auntie Karen

Hi All,
Oh how we miss or pool and fresh fruit. It's just not the same in Roanoke, VA, but there are lots of new things to love here too. And the good news is...we head back to Fresno in August.
These pics are A-DOR-able. Happy Swimming! What a fun idea to a start a once a week tradition with friends!
Aloha,

Dave is way too young to be doing the shirt in the pool thing! What gives? If he even has "aqua shoes" on the next Thursday picture... :)
