This blog is for my meat-loving sister...
Ever wonder what 1/3 of a cow looks like in your car and freezer? Today we went to The House of Beef (that's its actual name!) and picked up our share of 732 pounds of cow that a wonderful dairy couple from our church donates to us regularly. Here are some pictures of our "Adventures in Meat"...
The butcher brings out the heavy boxes on a cart and loads them into our car... his belt of huge knives swinging. We ride home while Ella talks about the "Cows (for) eating in car" behind her.
We unload. Ella is very helpful at handing Dave each package of meat while he finds a place for it in our outdoor freezer. We were given 46 pounds of ground beef, 54 hamburger patties, 10 steaks, 10 pounds of stew meat and 10 roasts.
It all just fits!
This close-up picture is just for you, Heather! An open invitation to you all: come to California and help us eat it (Dave's getting really good at the BBQ!)
