Sacramento Trip: Lots of Trains...No Arnold

We finally felt brave enough to attempt a day trip with our 2 little ones. Today we explored the Old Sacramento area and California State Railroad Museum. The train museum was really cool. We wandered around actual train cars learning about the history and importance of the Transcontinental Railroad and its significance in connecting the nation to California. In each car were very well informed (and costumed!) museum workers wanting to tell us more about what we were seeing. We toured a Pullman Sleeper Car, a dining car, an engine, a mail car and saw many many other trains just parked. Ella decided the huge trains were "a little scary" and needed lots of cuddles when we got near them, but she still had a good time and has been talking about the "choo-choos" and "boose" (caboose) since we got home. After the museum we had a nice time just wandering around the picturesque cobblestone streets and novelty shops that are Old Sacramento on the river.

Mom and Dad took off on their own when we were done in Old Sac. They are headed to Lake Tahoe for a few days, just a 2 hour drive from where we were in our state's capitol. We are happy they get a break from our routine of running 2 kids and a house...they've been such a great help!

Sounds like big fun! I love the photo of you and Ella cuddling. Is that Delia sleeping again? Are you sure you got a real baby or did an angel pop out?
Talk to you soon. Tomorrow night we head back to Cali. Yeah!
