Hello family and close friends! Tonight we write you with happy news and a prayer request. My college roommate, Cindy, had her baby yesterday...a boy named Ezekial Liam. He is welcomed by Dad (Greg) and big sister, Maya. He was born by emergency cesarean at 1:14 am, 5 weeks before his due date. Cindy was scheduled to have a C-section in April, but her water broke 2 days ago. He weighs a healthy 5 lb, 15 oz, but is struggling with breathing, since his lungs are not fully developed. His progress goes up and down and he will probably spend a good amount of time in the NICU, but fortunately he is in one that specializes in preemie care.Things to pray for: Quick and strong development for Ezekial (particularly his lungs), healing for Cindy, and patience and comfort for Greg and Cindy (they are having a hard time being separated from their new son).
Those of you who know us well, know how important Cindy and her family are in my life. I am filled with mixed emotions now-- happy for them to have a son, sad that the circumstances are less than ideal, far away from my friend, and a little scared being pregnant myself. Your prayers would be appreciated!
Here's a quick fun picture of Cindy and I with our daughters taken this summer when they came to visit. It has been a blessing to be pregnant at the same time as Cindy 2 times now!If we lived closer, both our kids would be in the same class.
